Journey to Web Summit: Navigating Lisbon

Web Summit will be taking over the Altice Arena from 5-8 November, welcoming thousands of entrepreneurs, tech superstars, media and startups to the stunning city of Lisbon.

If it’s your first time in Lisbon, we’re jealous. If you’re an old friend of the city, welcome back! We’ve put together this guide to make sure you enjoy every minute, even your commute.

From the airport to Lisbon city centre

From the airport:

By metro:
Web Summit attendees will be able to purchase metro passes through our Web Summit app once it is released, at the airport, and on the Metro website. More information will be shared closer to the event.

Follow the red line until São Sebastião and change to the blue line, travelling as far Baixa-Chiado
OR
Change to the green line at Alameda and travel to Baixa-chiado/Cais do Sodré.

At Oriente take the train to Santa Apolónia which connects to the subway blue line. Alternatively, you can follow the red line until São Sebastião, then change to the blue line. The red line also connects to the yellow line at Saldanha.

By bus
From the airport, take the No. 91 Carris bus service to Cais do Sodré railway station. View Carris bus schedules and further route details here. Aerobus also offers various routes linking the airport to Downtown Lisbon. Aerobus bus schedules and further route details are available here.

By car
If travelling by car from Lisbon airport to Lisbon City Centre, the exit route is the 2a circular.

From Lisbon city centre to Web Summit

By metro
Take the green line from Baixa-Chiado station until Alameda station. From here, take the red line to Oriente Station (Estação Oriente).

By bus
Those travelling by bus to the Web Summit venue should travel to Oriente Station (Estação Oriente), which is a 5-minute walk from the venue. There will be additions to the usual bus schedules for Night Summit. Further details are available here.

By taxi
Dedicated taxi drop-off and collection points at the Web Summit venue will operate on event days.

By train
Disembark at Orient Station (Estação Oriente), which is a 5-minute walk from the venue. Timetables and further route details are available here.

From the airport to Web Summit

By metro
From the airport, take the red line and get out at the Oriente Station (Estação Oriente).

By bus
Bus numbers 705 and 744 leave Lisbon airport regularly and travel to Oriente Station (Estação Oriente), which is a 5-minute walk from the Web Summit venue. Bus schedules and further route details are available here.

By taxi
There is a taxi rank located outside arrivals at Lisbon airport.
