Do you want the opportunity to pitch your idea to a high profile panel of judges investors and influential media, which in the past have included the likes of Aaron Levie (Box), Katherine Barr (Mohr Davidow Ventures), and Phil Libin (Evernote)? Then sign-up for our startup competition and be in with a chance to be crowned Winner of PITCH 2014 and present your startup on the main stage.
We’re ramping up the heat ahead of our three-day event this November and today we have two exciting announcements to make. Firstly we’re delighted to announce that PITCH will be returning for Web Summit 2014 and secondly, the platform for budding new startups has a fresh sponsor, the masters of quenching thirst, Coca-Cola.
So, what exactly is PITCH? PITCH is a competition for the kind of startup that is ready to make a breakthrough. It can be the catalyst your business needs to break through the ceiling, and with Coca-Cola on board due to their commitment towards giving exciting startups a crucial leg up in life, PITCH can help propel your business into the spotlight.
Similarly to 2013, PITCH gives companies in their infancy the chance to get up on a stage and demonstrate their merits, share their story so far, and explain their ideas. It’s a competition that is exclusively looking to give a leg up to companies that have received less than €3 million in funding to date and are less than 3-years-old, with the winners getting a chance to present their startup on the main stage.
In 2013, the minds behind the data extraction company Import.io trumped all entries from 90+ countries to claim top spot, while the success of another previous winner, Smartthings, attests to the effect PITCH can have on a startup’s future. Since winning the competition in 2012, the company that helps you remotely control household appliances, has gone on to raise over €15 million in funding.
Applications for PITCH are now open and when Web Summit 2014 rolls around, the top 200 entries will be selected to showcase themselves at the event, in front of some of the world’s elite investors, esteemed media, and other guests. Previous judges of the competition include Aaron Levie founder of Box, Phil Libin of Evernote, Michael Birch of Monkey Inferno, Kevin Rose of Google Ventures, Shakil Khan of Spotify and Jawed Karim founder of YouTube.
The deadline to apply for PITCH is September 19th, 2014.
