We like to think that Web Summit is a meeting place for the people leading the companies of both today and tomorrow. It’s why among the 50,000+ people joining us in Lisbon this November, you’ll find C-level executives of some of the world’s most influential brands like Facebook, GE, Amazon and Coca-Cola alongside the CEOs and founders of the world’s most exciting startups.
Tomorrow may just be closer than even we thought.
We’re delighted to see that the startups that joined us at our events across the world in 2015 have raised just over $1 billion after attending.
$1 billion in funding for Web Summit startups
The startups that exhibited at our US event Collision, our Hong Kong eventRISE, our fintech event MoneyConf, and of course Web Summit have raised just over $1 billion in funding since they joined our ALPHA, BETA and START programmes in 2015.
The rounds range from Seeds in the tens of thousands of dollars, right the way up to Sisense’s $50 million Series D. Sisense are doing great things in business analytics, and it’s been incredible to watch them grow over the course of their five years exhibiting at Web Summit.
No compromise on quality
As we’ve grown from a 400-person or so gathering back in 2010, to looking forward to welcoming 50,000 people to Lisbon in November, we like to think we haven’t compromised.
One of the things we haven’t compromised on is the quality of startups we invite to join one of our three programmes — ALPHA, BETA or START. The startups set to join us at Web Summit this November are have already raised a combined $625 million.
We can’t wait.
