Can you hear me now? Introducing our 1st ESB Spark of Genius Finalist

Lots going on at Web Summit – find out what’s on the agenda here.

____

In September, 30 really impressive Irish startups pitched off against each-other for a place in the final of the ESB Spark of Genius Competition. After much deliberation & debate our 3 finalists were chosen – these were Restored Hearing, Love&Robots and Tender Scout. Three really exciting companies, from totally different industries, and ready to take the next 3. Aside from pitching against each other at Web Summit to become the Spark of Genius 2014 winner, they will also exhibit as part of the START program for later stage startups with huge potential.

We caught up with Eimear O’Carroll to get to know a bit more about Restored Hearing prior to the final:

1. Describe Restored Hearing in 20 words

Restored Hearing protects people from tinnitus, and promotes healthy hearing. We aim to rid the world of avoidable hearing damage.

2. What are you looking forward to most at Web Summit?

Meeting an incredible group of international entrepreneurs, technologists and investors. The energy and ideas such a mix of people can bring to Dublin really excites us.

We’re also really excited to pitch on the main stage and get everyone enthused about Restored Hearing.

3. Tell us a little about the Restored Hearing team

4. What’s your favourite part of pitching your company?

Raising awareness of tinnitus and hearing damage is a huge part of what we do so being able to educate people through pitching is really important to us. From a business perspective, we’re going through a really rapid growth phase at the moment and sharing that story spurs us on to grow even faster.

5. If Restored Hearing was an animal what would they be and why?

Restored Hearing would be a beaver. Beavers are the workaholics of the animal world, we strive to be the thought leader in our field. No animal personality places more emphasis on pleasing people, which we do with our customers daily.
