As of today, 37,174 people have registered for Web Summit.
Six years ago, 400 attendees showed up for the first Web Summit. Our attendees say incredible things, but we’re only getting started. We’ve grown to a team of over 150 people at our HQ in Dublin, and we’re expecting 50,000 people to join us at Web Summit 2016. Our greatest achievements are still to come so we’re searching for incredible folk to join us.
We believe that everyone should challenge themselves to work in a startup at least once. One of the biggest complaints our talent team hear from those working in more structured corporate environments is the lack of ownership, creativity and responsibility found there. Working at a startup means you’re part of something where only you and your team are responsible for success.
Tom- Exhibitors Team Lead
Tom O’Reilly, our Exhibitors Team Lead, puts it like this: “Web Summit is the place to really challenge yourself and see what difference you can make to an exciting international business.”
Over the next couple of months we’re focused on hiring for our Trusted Advisor team. These guys work with thousands of companies, from global behemoths to exciting startups, that are posed to disrupt every industry you can think of. After all, there is no longer such a thing as a ‘tech’ industry – just industries that have been affected by tech.
If you have experience working with C-level execs, founders and decision-makers at major international companies, and want to manage the entire sales life cycle with global partners like Google, Facebook and Intercom, maybe you should consider a role as a Trusted Advisor. Reflecting the international nature of these jobs, we’d love to hear from people all over the world.
Aislinn – Partnerships Team Lead
Take it from Aislinn Mahon, our Partnerships Team Lead: “Leading teams working with Web Summit’s global partners has been an incredible experience. I’ve been able to work directly with some of the biggest, well-established names in international business at every stage of the relationship.”
All roles at Web Summit change and evolve quickly. But this is especially true for our sales teams. You travel around the world helping to shape amazing companies’ experiences at our events in Lisbon, New Orleans, Hong Kong and beyond. This is the type of ownership that allows flexibility and creativity – you aren’t just servicing a business or following an existing process. You are helping to build it.
You go on to sell across more and more global markets and sectors as the company grows. You aren’t limited to specific geographies or verticals – you build your own.
Giuseppe – VP of Global Sales
Giuseppe Vitulano, a former sales leader for Google in EMEA, joined the team about eight months ago. He often says that if you’re an “intrapreneur”, then Web Summit is for you:
“A promising idea here never just remains a promising idea but it germinates within people’s mind till the seed becomes a full-blown plan. You’ll experience firsthand what being in hyper-growth mode means. If the sky’s the limit from a business point of view, it is from a career-development angle as well.”
Maybe you’ll join us in our converted tramway station to help build our events around the world. If you’d like to read a little more about what we do you’ll find a useful overview here. Expresso emprego wrote about us hiring over the weekend here. The Irish Independent have also written about us here.
