“The Web as I envisaged it, we have not seen it yet. The future is still so much bigger than the past.” Tim Berners Lee – Creator of the Internet
46 days to go until Web Summit, and today the event takes another step forward with the announcement of 4 new Summits, and some exciting new speakers. Where to begin? Well firstly we’re delighted to announce our 4 new Summits – Music Summit, Film Summit, Food Summit & Sports Summit. Each of these will bring a new meaning to ‘The Internet of Everything’ and each will add a unique feeling to the event. We’re also delighted to announce 3 new speakers, each masters of their particular field, and each with an incredible story to tell:
Eva Longoria – Angel Investor, Actress & Philanthropist
We’re delighted to welcome Eva to Dublin in the first week of November. As a world famous actress, philanthropist and angel investor she will bring a wealth of knowledge on investment, tech and film as Web Summit continues to explore the new themes and trends in technology. Eva is best known for her role as Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives, while also founding & supporting several foundations including Eva’s Heroes, a charity which helps disabled children.
Mark Pincus – Zynga Founder
Mark Pincus is the pioneer of the social gaming industry. In 2006 Zynga didn’t exist, 8 years on and it is now one of the giants of the gaming world. Founded by Mark in 2007, within four years Zynga had grown to a $1bn company – and huge online successes including FarmVille & CityVille. Prior to founding Zynga Mark founded one of the first social networks Tribe.net, and also SupportSoft and Freeloader.
Lily Cole – Founder & Supermodel
Best known as a Supermodel, Lily is also an incredible actress, and founder of Impossible.com, a gift economy startup which encourages people to do things for others for free. Her career as a model was launched after a chance encounter with scout Benjamin Hart in Soho when she was 14. Since then, Cole has graced the cover of several mainstream fashion titles – including US, British, Italian and Japanese Vogue. On the big screen Lily has starred in top rated movies, including St. Trinian’s and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
Eva, Mark & Lily are coming to Web Summit. Will you join them? Tickets are still available here >>>
