He’s the founder of the “hottest private tech company on the planet” and he’s just confirmed that he’ll be speaking at The Summit. Who is he? He is Dropbox founder and CEO, Drew Houston.
Drew led Dropbox’s growth from a simple idea to a service used by millions around the world. Described by Forbes as a boy-wonder billionaire, Houston’s Dropbox was valued at just under $10bn in January of this year, with notable investors including Sequoia Capital, Index Ventures, Accel Partners and Goldman Sachs.
Every story has a beginning and as we know all too well the Early Bird catches the worm, and Houston was the earliest of birds when it came to tech – starting playing with computers aged just 5, and beginning his involvement with startups once he hit High School, Dropbox was his 6th startup. As Drew knows too well – persistence is key.
Ideas can come from the smallest bit of experience or inspiration – for Drew it was the frustration of having to carry USB drives everywhere he went and having to email files to himself. And how he acted on this inspiration …. Proved again only yesterday as Dropbox revealed an eye catching re-design, consistently innovating as they continue to stay ahead of their competitors.

Drew has been recognised for his achievements, being included in MIT’s Technology Review TR35 list honouring the world’s top innovators under 35 and also Fortune’s “40 Under 40”.
