Bono is speaking at Web Summit – check out the full agenda here.
It’s only 5 days now until Web Summit, and we’ve saved some big news for the last week – Bono is coming, and he’s speaking. Bono has attended Web Summit before, but this will be the first time he will take to the stage to speak – with some incredibly intriguing topics to be covered.
He’ll be taking to the stage with Bill McGlashin of TPG, Eric Wahlforss of SoundCloud and Dana Brunetti. speaking on the future of music and the future of content.
So just in case you don’t know. Who is Bono? He’s the lead singer of Irish rock band U2 which formed as teenagers in Dublin in 1976, and have won 22 Grammys. Their most recent album ‘Songs of Innocence’ was downloaded 30 million times.
Bono is also a well-known activist in the fight against AIDS and extreme poverty, co-founding the ONE campaign and (RED). Awards include TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year (with Bill and Melinda Gates), the Legion D’Honneur, and an honorary British knighthood.
Bono & band member The Edge appeared on Ireland’s flagship TV show ‘The Late Late Show’ to talk all things U2 – from the new album, to iTunes, and even took time out to sing a few songs. Lets take a look:
