24 Hardware and IoT Startups Joining us at Web Summit

Join the world’s most promising startups in ALPHA.

If you’re part of a promising startup, you could exhibit at Web Summit for free as part of our ALPHA programme. Every week, we’re selecting 25 high potential, highly disruptive startups to join us. They’ll be joining a diverse range of companies, that create everything from 3D printers to smart fragrance dispensers to cloud-connected kick scooters.

Over $1 billion has been raised by 40 Web Summit 2014 startups, and this year looks set to be even more successful.

If chosen for the ALPHA programme, you’ll be in good company. Arduino, re:3D and SkyAlert are three exciting startups that have already been selected to exhibit. Let’s find out more about them.

Arduino – Switzerland

Arduino is coming to Web Summit this November as part of the ALPHA programme. For hobbyists and anyone interested in dabbling in tech creation, Arduino products are nothing short of empowering. Arduino provides open source hardware and software that can be used in an endless list of DIY projects, from smart thermostats to breathalysers.

What started as a student project back in 2005, has now snowballed to become an internationally recognised company in the field of DIY gadgetry.

re:3D – USA

Following on from their win at our US event Collision and their runner-up spot in Web Summit 2014’s PITCH Beta competition, re:3D will be attending this year’s event. re:3D is the company behind Gigabot, a human-scale industrial 3D printer characterised by its slogan “Think Big, Print Huge”.

SkyAlert – Mexico

3 million people in Mexico could potentially avoid catastrophe, thanks to the SkyAlert app. SkyAlert uses satellite warning systems to notify its users of earthquakes before they happen. SkyAlert will be joining the Web Summit as part of the ALPHA programme.
