The world’s most exciting companies will be at Web Summit 2014 – be there first hand to experience their innovations


Another week, another group of incredible companies that will be making their way to Dublin this November. The sky-high standard and diversity among the START class of 2014 means we can’t help but keep on blogging about these startups, and the below selection certainly doesn’t disappoint. Hailing from all over the world – from Canada to Ireland to China and beyond – this group covers internet security, interactive design, carsharing, automatic video creation and much, much more.

It isn’t difficult to see why these companies have all attracted serious investment over the past number of months. After Web Summit 2014, who’s to say these startups won’t take a further step forward and go the way of previous START exhibitors by becoming major players in the worldwide tech industry.

Restored Hearing – Dublin, Ireland

Restored Hearing provides solutions to problems with hearing, using physics as the basis for product innovation. A tinnitus therapy retails on their website which relieves ringing in the ears in just one minute. Also in development at the moment is a new responsive hearing protection – a product that will provide both protection and communication to those in construction, military and aviation industries.

Shakr makes it easy for individuals, small businesses and non-profits around the world to make professional-quality videos and video ads. To do this, the company combines a fast-growing marketplace of more than 150 motion graphics video styles with its drag-and-drop simple video creator.

Wauwaa is an e-commerce website for parents and growing families that also provides an online destination for finding parenting information, multimedia content, and carefully curated products for all their needs.


MoneyFarm – Cagliari, Italy

Soldsie – San Francisco, USA

Soldsie is a payment system enabling merchants to monetise their Facebook page by allowing customers to purchase through comments. Customers register their payment information with Soldsie, and then comment on stores’ pages, channels and feeds to activate a charge to their account, and initiate the shipping process. Merchants use the Soldsie administrative dashboard track and manage inventory and shipping, and experience increased user comments, views and viral shares.
